Ammi majus
First things first – because these two plants are often lumped together:
Queen Anne's lace (Ammi majus) and Bishop's weed (Ammi visnaga) are not the same plants. They look very similar, so you'll often find Queen Anne's lace "masquerading" as Bishop's weed (that's why I put both names in the title).
Queen Anne's lace is also known as wild carrot and, while that may not be the most attractive name, the plant itself is a beautiful addition to natural-looking gardens, vases and the spaces between perennials. With large, white umbels of delicate flowers, it's perfect for filling gaps. You can plant a bunch together to create great clouds of white blooms.
And a bonus: the seed pods will look so pretty throughout the winter.
