Nigella damascena

Anyone can grow love-in-a-mist! At least, that’s my rather strongly held opinion.

It's easy to cultivate and, once the delicate flowers have wilted, decorative "puffed-up" seed pods will form. These dry brilliantly and look lovely in floral arrangements.

Miss Jekyll is sky blue, lasts for ages in a vase and is also happy in a pot. Snails avoid it (yippee!).

It's best to sow the seeds to look almost a little haphazard or cover a large surface area so they don’t get ‘swallowed up’ by more prominent neighbours.

Their delightful blooms look just like little skirts.
